In Every Heartbeat, Kim Vogel Sawyer

In Every Heartbeat, Kim Vogel Sawyer tells the story of Libby and her two friends Bennett and Petey. They have grown up and grown close in an orphanage and now are attending college together, each pursuing his or her dreams. Libby wants to be a world-famous journalist; Petey is called to the ministry; Bennett want to find a place to belong and sets his eyes on a fraternity.

Adulthood and their first time on their own since being grown offers challenges they didn't expect. With aplomb they conquer those challenges and everything turns out beautifully well. It's a nice tidy story, everything ending as I thought it would. Although there were no curve balls - I predicted how it would end - it was an interesting read getting there. The author tells an interesting, tight story.

My copy of In Every Heartbeat was provided by Graf-Martin Communications. It is available at your favorite booksellers of Bethany House books, a division of Baker Publishing.
